For age is opportunity no less
Than youth itself, though in another dress,
And as the evening twilight fades away
The sky is filled with stars, invisible by day.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
With birthdays and other events of the summer, I have been thinking a lot about aging, my own mortality and the cycle of life in general. I liked this poem and thought it brought some things into perspective for me. I am a little partial to Longfellow, so it was an easy choice. And not to mix my Brownings with my Longellows, but how nice to be reminded that "the best is yet to be".
Have a wonderful day and a starry night.
Love,
Nothing like starting the day off with some lovely Longfellow! Happy Thursday, all.
