"When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, "I used everything you gave me"."-- Erma Bombeck
Erma Bombeck had a way of saying something, didn't she? Seldom serious, this quote
is unusual for her.
But, I know what she means. Everyone has been given a talent to give back to the world and it would be such a waste if we didn't share it. The old adage "use it or lose it" certainly comes to mind here.
Today, go out and use up some of your talent. Share it with each other and some part of us will continue on well beyond the day we meet our maker. It's Christmas and a time for giving. So often we complain about Christmas becoming so commercial, and I suppose that's true. So to bring back the real spirit of Christmas what better way than to do a little re-gifting and give some of that talent away.
So, if you have a talent for painting or making something beautiful, share that this season.
But even better, if you have a talent for making someone laugh, share that!
If your talent is music, use some of that up this season.
And if you have a talent for making someone know they are loved, by all means, share that.
And when we face God, let's hope we are no longer tap dancing.
Make it a Merry Christmas and share your talents.
Love,
Suz
